Late in the evening:

J.: let me show you my amazing skills of a jump-roper using this hula hoop.
Stephen: wow! that’s amazing! let me try!   **tries**   **fails**
J.: dude, c’mon, I’m way bigger than you and I can do it.
Stephen: ok, let me see your technique.
J.: **does it**
Stephen: i see, you have to kind of crouch down to get your head through it.
B.: (piping up) I don’t!
J.: well obviously, because you are like four feet tall.
B. (drawing herself up with great dignity) four foot TWO!

as for the rest of the evening, the photos speak for themselves. a good time was had by all.
