mission trip photos!
San Antonio was amazing. Just see for yourself!
We didn’t get any Schlitterbahn pictures … we were too busy getting wet. But still, this will give you a pretty good idea of a lot of the cool stuff we did.

splash!! (pics version)
Here are some pics from today’s fun in the sun. It was awesome to have K., E., and L. join us. And, A.’s underwater torpedo is amazing. But the best part was probably the sundaes.
Oh, and the fellowship!

splash!!
It’s summer … but that doesn’t mean we can’t still get together!

This Sunday we’re going to head over to the Cottonwood pool in Richardson for some old-fashioned fun in the sun (a.k.a. youth group soup) … followed by an ice cream run! Here’s the plan:
- The parish cake auction happens at 11:30. Come hang out, help us with setup and cleanup, and get your parents to bid on cakes (or spend your hard-earned pocket money on a cake yourself …)
- Bring some lunch with you to church or grab a quick bite with your family after the cake auction.
- Meet at the Youth House at 1:30 p.m. (bring your bathing suit, a towel, and $5 to cover expenses)
- Say goodbye to your family and get ready for youth group soup!
- Pool craziness ensues. Then sundaes (did I hear the word Braum’s?).
- We meet back at the Youth House at 4:00 p.m. to get picked up.
Get ready … get set … CANNONBALL …

lunchtime Wii party at the Youth House
this Saturday. 12:30 to 3:00.
Yes, the folks at Whirlyball canceled our reservation. So instead, we are throwing a Lunchtime Massive Big-Screen Nintendo Wii And Other Stuff Party. The ingredients: pizza. A humongous big screen and projector. A Wii with some carefully selected rented games (Mario Party comes to mind …). Possible eruption of water balloon launching contests and other mayhem. Simple, but effective, with guaranteed fun with your Ascension friends.
see you there.

It’s Not Easy Being Green!
This past Sunday we spent Jr. EYC at Moss Park right down the road from Ascension, cleaning up trash beside White Rock Creek. Then we looked at some scripture passages about water and baptism and celebrated by eating our mega-cookie from Operation Ratatouille.
Also we got muddy.
But do not worry O fearful parents, antibacterial hand-wipes were used in abundance before eating!
–the mighty trash-picker-uppers of Jr. EYC

midday madness: scavenger hunt edition
the task: take a picture of your team in front of a store beginning with each letter of the alphabet.
the bonuses: many.
the goal: 12,000 points.
the result? we blew it wide open with 28,000 points and celebrated with sundaes at braum’s!
stay tuned for jr. eyc next week: “It’s Not Easy Being Green.” Featuring the Mega Cookie of Doom and plenty of outdoor craziness. Bring grubby clothes and good shoes because you’ll need them!

operation ratatouille: mission accomplished!
Operation Ratatouille was a stunning success!
in an action-packed hour and a half, we made massive amounts of chocolate chip cookies to share with people in prison at the Coffield Unit, outside Palestine, TX, through our diocese’s Kairos prison ministry program.
also we wore moustaches and talked in ridiculous accents.
final cookie count: eight dozen. that’s not counting the massive Mega-Cookie that we created with all our leftover batter. it’s chocolate chocolate chip. it will be eaten at Jr. EYC in two weeks. thus, you don’t want to miss Jr. EYC in two weeks: “It’s Not Easy Being Green” on April 20!
then again, you don’t want to miss Midday Madness this coming Sunday either.
